GPANTRIP: Ryokan Crazy!

Well this is sorta unexpected but the Ryokan i:m staying at has free internet access, today we made our way from Kyoto to Nara then on to Yoshino… if you don:t know Yoshino is a very remote place outside of Nara renown from its cherry blossums during the april/summer months, unfortunatly at the moment we are out of season but it dosn:t stop the breathtakingness of the area we are currently surrounded in, Pleanty of photos have been taken by myself bayon and marty so they will be soon uploaded at a more convienient time,

tonight we had a traditional japanese dinner which how should i say… was an experiance… it was good and everything but i had no clue what i was doing and it was a bit over fulfilling for my liking, but it makes for a good story to tell later, being very remote (under 11000 people in this town) none of the signs i have seen are in english and our trek up to this place is something i will let bayon tell you in detail when we get back because it was something he really enjoyed… but the operators of the ryokan speak pretty good english something we have not been able to see since leaving the hotel in Tokyo.

it is very 5 star getting at being 6 stars here everything is totally looked after for us here, when we arrived the bus boy ran out to the front gate to help carry our bags, and the lady show:ed us to our rooms and laid us green tea, our rooms are very plush and this place is bigger than i expected, our room is the biggers place we have stayed at/seen in all of japan, and we have 3 toliets and one shared bathroom, each toliet is next to each over and has each of the different type you can possibly find, one is a traditional asian style `sqwat` toliet, the next is a single standing toliet like you would find in bars for guys to stand and do there stuff, and the last is a western style normal toliet which has many buttons and things to play with :s….

when we had finished dinner we found our beds have all been made and will be an interesting night sleeping on the floor with a mattress etc, the heating here is extreme, all rooms even out in the hallways have a heating stove thing, which makes it very comtable to move around in our robes we have been supplied, our shoes have been taken and we have been supplied slippers and when exiting to see the gardens are given out door shoes to wear…

I don:t believe much will be happening tonight as we are trying to take it easy now that we are here, i look forward for the 8am breakfast the ryokan has planned for us and will try to upload some photos hopefully tomorrow or worst case when we get to Osaka, cheers for now.
