Its just under 24 hours since we touched down into Narita Airport and finally began our gpan trip adventure, we quickly passed through customs as i was under the impression that it was going to take forever, my bags didn’t even get opened they just asked me in very poor english “do you have anything to declare” i said no.
we need proceeded to exchange our rail passes and were booked onto an tokyo express train which took a little under an hour. next we quickly made our way to the subway and within 2 mins were on a train to our local stop. the trains come so often here we don’t even bother with a timetable, pretty much every 5 mins you can catch a train to where you want to go. after we checked in (9pm ish) being hungry because of the shitty airline food we booked it to shibuya which was only 4 stops (10mins) on train and walked around in amazment for like 2 hours, we found a cheap place to have food which happend to be a japanese curry place. for 2000 yen we were all able to get a decent feed (about 20 australian dollars total ). Today we have gone on our quest to cash our travelers cheques, so far we have done pretty much anything but… we randomly found the toyota auto salon, where martin was able to pick up some tin tin merchandise… (i don’t know why tin tin could be found there but he was) next we searched for what the lonely guide described as the worlds best chinese dumplin, it turned out be an 2 story indoor theme park created by Namco.
we entered and were creeped out by all the crazy theme'ed areas got our food and left, we are currently lost somewhere on the other side of tokyo looking for address details of american express store/booth. Our hotel room is small, it is one normal size bedroom with 3 beds and a desk snuck in, then in what one would normal consider a closet is the smallest bathroom with toliet one has ever seen. there is a tv in our room and nothing is more funnyer at the moment then changing to a random channel and watching the wackey tv shows/ads they have here.
If IntraPower would ever fix there shit i might be able to upload this to be viewed by anyone other than myself, i have logged a ticket to get the ftp mounting issue fixed but i have been meet with the response of “You’ll need to talk to your account manager about this.” by the national technical services manager… i think i’m screwed…
